I'd pick one up at the jy.

That's what I'm thinking. That steel is separated I won't even be able to pull the glass out probably.

I recently picked up a couple at the jy as mine had some rust swelling also. The nice thing is that most door panels have already been removed so you just have to pull the window out of the track and remove the vent. Don't even have to take the main window out. Be careful removing the nut as the threaded flat rod tends to twist. You might want to just swap the whole unit, track and all.

This is exactly what happened as I took her apart. Closest junk yard I could find with a donor is about 2 hours away. It will definitely be a weekend trip

Ebay has a good looking left and right selling by pats auto (can't get eBay to give me a link on the app). The price for each is 10x the jy price but would save a 5 hour venture.

I repaired my wing frame by sanding out the rust and rebuilding the frame with JB weld. sanded it smooth and painted it black with rustoleum then build it up with JB weld, sand smooth and paint again. Lasted for a while but needs replacement eventually. Have you asked your local glass shop about replacements?

May want to place a WTB add.
I had to replace both of mine because of bad pivots and got them from a FTE member.

All great info guys. I'm definitely scrapping these. Any tips on getting the glass out? I think I should attempt to save the glass should ever the need arises to replace it... Or maybe it's not worth the effort.

If you have a place to store things it attracts stuff like iron to a magnet. I'm storing a lot of parts of all kinds. I know one guy on this forum that has 5 doors. A couple wing glass seems easy enough to put on the shelf.

People think I'm crazy for buying filters by the case even...so yes you will likely face scorn but laugh it off. You know what you have in your hands is genuine !
