Is there no light in shift indicator on the center console on 2018 KR

 

Not sure about a 2018, but I don’t have one on my 2019 Lariat.

 

Mine lights up on my 2015 XLT, but there is no indicator in the lights. Just the characters themselves are lit.

 

My 2013 console lit up and showed had an indicator for the gear selected, My 2019 KR does neither. My wifte's 2013 Explorer lit up, but her 2018 Explorer does not. Makes you wonder why they even bother to print the letters on the console. Cost cutting measures I assume.

 

My 17 Lariat has the gear selector letters on the console lighted but my understanding is that Ford discontinued this during the 17 year model run and from then forward. The thinking seems to be that the indicator is on the dash display so it really wasn't needed on the console as well. That and it probably saved Ford 25 cents on each truck.
