are you saying air only comes out of the defrosters and not through the dash vents or on the floor?
that is a sign of a vacuum leak.

Iair is not coming from the vents, floor or the defrost.not leaking around the fan motor or heater core box under the hood. Have no idea where it’s going.

WAG I wonder if the motor doesn't have the squirrel cage installed backwards---is that even possible on a Ranger? Could the motor be wired wrong and spinning in the wrong direction?

If the blower were forcing air through the system as its supposed to do and there is no air flow inside the cabin there should be a huge amp draw increase as the motor tries to force air through closed vents. Then again most Ford's can't have a completely blocked air flow as the default condition is air through the defrost vents.

Sounds odd---looking forward to the final diagnosis and fix----hope its nothing serious.

wired backwards is a definite possibility to cause the no air movement condition. especially since he hears the fan motor running. unless the squirrel cage is not spinning.

I think it’s difficult to put the squirrel cage on wrong and I know the cage is spinning. The blend door is working fine,no problems switching hot/cold,the actuator behind the glovebox operates good and checked the vacuum
lines under the hood, pulled the hvac control and made sure everything was connected properly. I confirmed I do have a small amount of air coming from the vents for whatever setting I put the controls on.damned if I know, never had a problem with the old blower till it went out. Bought a new blower motor from auto zone
