AC blowing hoses

On my 89 station wagon.. New compressor, evacuated and charged system. After a couple of weeks, a connection popped off. Oil all over. Added a bit more oil to compressor, evacuated and charged the system. Hose disconnected at another location this time. Wish the gauges I have would fit. R12 been converted to 134A. Obviously high pressure causing hoses to disconnect, sounds like a tire blowout. Thinking (very scary) I'll have to remove compressor, drain it, refill with oil, flush the system, and go through the recharging process again. With gauges that fit the system.
Anybody have an insight as to what happened? New orifice
Thanks

Are you sure the hoses are blowing off due to high pressure, or could the fittings just be worn or fatigued?

New springs in the couplings. In searching, some say not enough refrigerant, some say too much

You most certainly have a blockage or restriction of some kind. Examine the condenser for damage or crimped plumbing. A vehicle at this age would really benefit from a new condenser, dryer receiver and accumulator. They're not too expensive from someone like Rock.

To think everything was ok until the clutch bearing seized. Figured might as well get a new compressor, orifice, accumulator dryer. New compressor from Rock didn't last 1000 miles. (warranty no problem).. Was going to get a new condenser but, being lazy would have to take the header panel off to get to it..
I agree, think I'll have to start from scratch and give the car a birthday present next month. (Happy 30th)
