The DS2 ignition module should should work with most aftermarket coils. I'm using mine with a Mallory Promaster coil and its included resistor, and it's working fine. If the aftermarket coil comes with a resistor that they instruct you to use with the coil, you should install and use it. Not sure of the Summit coil and its resistance. If in doubt, you should check with their tech support.

DS II doesn't work with just any coil. I found that out when I first got my Comet running. Ran like crap till I got the correct coil.

I agree the coil needs to match the Ignition module, I don't have the stock wiring harness to use that has a resistor wire so I'll wire to an external one. The DS2 schematic shows 1.10 ohm resistor to the coil but not the primary resistance of the coil itself. Don't want to screw up the new DS2 module from not using the right components, I'll do some more hunting around on the web......... thanks.
