Hello everyone, I just joined. I recently picked up a 1970 F600 flat bed wrecker with a 330FT engine and 4 speed tranny with 2 speed rear. It has 12k orig miles and never seen a winter here in the Northeast! Unbelievable! Picked her up for $2k
I removed the factory original tires mounted on the RH5 widowmaker wheels for some military split ring wheels and total NDT tires, I found in NC at a military auction for $125 for all six.
I need to mount a hydraulic winch still, and paint the bed.
while looking at the carb to get the info I need to rebuild it I can see it is mounted on top of a riser, that has lead seals locking out something on the choke side. Does anyone know what this is?

Good eye! Yes the side mirrors have Mack embossed in them. I wasn’t sure if the mirror or entire bracket setup was off a Mack truck. I have a lot of Mack trinkets and stuff, my late father-in -law was a Mack dealer in the 70-80s
I'll say the door brackets are both "lower" mounts from a B model. The upper brackets on a B are curved to match the door. I just blasted and painted mine. I didn't spend the $600 for new SS brackets!!! Last winter I put a set of NOS door shells on it along with new glass/seals.
Though they could be early R model stuff too?
Here's my truck. Just a long work in progress for the last 18 yrs. Just chipping away at it. This picture is a couple years ago.
You guys are right on, I took a closer look at it and found some info printed on it. It gives a range of 2800-4000 rpm. Definitely a governor. I’ve read a bunch of posts about how important it is to stay under 3800 rpm with the FT330, to get longevity out of them.
Nice Rig! Does that truck have the sleeper outfitted with a bunk?
I noticed my cross bar (top to bottom) is opposite of your mack
Yes, the bunk is a Bentz 42" sleeper. I stretched the truck 5ft from when I bought it, added air ride and put the bunk on. I cut the back of the cab open for access. I've done lots of other improvements over time.
