I am looking for tire recommendations for my 2015 F350 King Ranch DRW. I want a quality tire with good all weather traction. I don't go off road with it. Looking for quiet tires with good tread life. I tow a 12k fifth wheel.
Well, the trim level has nothing to do with tires, but I would check out TireRack. You can plug in your pickup specs or tire size and it will list a bunch of tires that fit along with user ratings broken down into categories like dry traction, wet traction, snow traction, noise level, comfort, etc...
Continental HSR (Standard Steer Tire) and HDR2 (Standard Drive Tire). These are not bad tires. I put the HDR on all six. **** OK*** Those are commercial
But don't rule out Continental......
I had several sets of BFG All Terrain KO tires.. They wear out fast and no good in snow or ice. Duratracs were much better...
Also had a set of Michelin LTX on a heavy SUV.. I was sliding all over the place and doing donuts with them on ice and snow. I couldn't wait for them to wear out so I could get something different.
I just installed Falken Wildpeak AT3/W on my Dually, they ride smooth, traction has been impressive to date. We got about 4” of snow the day after installation and they hooked up extremely well. A week later I hauled a 14+K trailer and they handled very well. I’m running Centramatic Balancers so there’s no vibration either. Here’s a thread I started that’ll also give you some ideas for getting a great price on any tire.
I run Michelin Defender LTX on my dually. I drive 105 miles a day for my commute, 70% highway, and the tires are wonderfully quiet. Had a 6+ inch snow storm after installing and tires performed perfectly. Have had a few severe rain storms the last three weeks and truck didn’t hydroplane at all, even at 65mph speeds.
They might not have the sexiest tread pattern but who cares.....tires are meant to perform and these do.
