I have Toyo's M/T tires in 35/12.50/20 The tires are great and wear well. But they are half worn and getting even louder than they already were.
I kinda knew this goin in but I wanted something that would get some miles out of the tread. Anyway, long story short, does anyone make a tire in my size that is more of a highway tread type tire? I am looking for a smoother quiet type tire.
I have been online for days and in my size tire everything is aggressive and off road style? Any help would be helpful
I have the Falken Rocky Mountain tires, aka Wild Peak tires too. I have 25k on them and they are quiet for an all terrain. They perform well in wet/snow and offroad conditions. I would recommend you look into them. I am pleased with the sound, grip and wear.
Toyo makes a tire that is in between the MT and AT, it's the RT. A friend has them and while louder that most all terrain tires, not nearly as loud as my MT's. Not sure how they will be as the they wear and the tread opens up some. They look pretty aggressive but have better road manners than our MT's do. http://toyotires.com/tire/pattern/op...-terrain-tires

The R/T was going to be my next choice if I couldn't find something else less aggressive.
I really like them on my buddies truck, seriously considering them for my next set, but I only have 2500 miles on the MT's, which I Love, just wondering if the RT's will have alot better road manners. I'm sure the ATII's are good, but I still have enough 10 year old in me to want the "look" of the MT's!
Ive ha good luck with the Trail Grapplers. I'm almost ready for a new set. I'm going to go with the 35x12.5 this go round instead of the 295x 70. They will be a half inch taller and an inch wider.
I'm getting 35x12.5x20 trail grapplers installed on my truck on thursday. I suggested the terra's for the OP because he wants something less trail ready and quieter.
Nice. I have enjoyed mine for a few years. I have been pleasantly surprised at how quiet these are for an aggressive treaded tire. They are louder than a highway tire for sure. Those Toyo RT look interesting as well. I like the sidewall of the Trail Grapplers.
Mine have worn evenly. I'm not 100 % sure on mileage. I'd guess about 30-35k or so or since Halloween of 2011. I have kept a close eye on them. I also did a chalk test on occasion and kept the air pressure where it gave me an even footprint. 70 in the fronts and 65 in the rears when empty. I'd air up the tears when towing often.
