Hey guys. I got my new egt probe for my 6.7. I dropped the piece that goes around the probe. It looked brass. Cant find it because i managed to drop it over the engine. I was wondering if it is just brass of i could go to the hardware and find one thatll fit the probe.
The part you are referring to I assume is just a reducing pipe nipple? Could you not purchase a stainless or steel reducer from said hardware store? Just your luck Ford most likely used some proprietary thread that is non-standard.
Edit: I see you replied before I did. That looks like a standard brass compression fitting sleeve to me.
if you are away from the high heat, then the compression sleeve/ferrule might work made from brass. You didn't fully explain what part was needed. Go to local parts store or hardware and acquire a compression coupling and try it.
Better yet, contact SCT and ask them what will work....they have a toll free number for tech support...They might send you a new one for free or low cost
