Which dealer did you have it towed to? Payson or Show Low? Is that the dealer you purchased from? We have a place in Payson, and I’m less than overwhelmed by the dealer in Star Valley.

had them tow it all the way back to the valley, Chapman Ford in Scottsdale. This is not where I bought it from but the closest to my house. I custom ordered it through Rodeo Ford since my buddy is one of the managers there.
Update: Dealer is doing all the work under the warranty, no questions asked. Spring is not broke so they don't even know how that would be possible. They ordered a new shock based on my VIN number, but they received the wrong shock (a rancho I belive). hmmmm. This concerns me. On an F-350 FX4 what shock should it have? Now that this was all brought up, the shocks currently on there are unmarked, but I believe they should be upgraded with FX4 package.
Also the mechanic I've been working with at Chapman Ford has been great. He's been keeping me updated and informed. This is much appreciated.
have dealer inspect spring...maybe it was a foreign made and had "ACME" stamped on it...which could explain why Wylie Kioti was seen with a metal detector looking for something.....now we know!!!!
On a bright note, glad everyone was safe...had to have been quite disconcerting.....all the best...

Chapman is a better call than the dealer in Star Valley. I went there a couple times while up north hunting, less than impressed. I tried to buy my truck from Rodeo, they came in pretty high. Ended up buying from Bell Ford.
I hope your repair is completed, and you don’t have any more issues. I expect to have a few minor problems in the course of my truck’s life. I don’t expect major suspension parts to fall off on a dirt road.

Repair was completed. No complaints. It will go down as an unsolved mystery as how it happened. The service department at Chapman was great to deal with. The service adviser assigned to me (Matt) was excellent. He didn't always have great news (delay in getting parts) but he kept me informed without me having to hound them. He also didn't hesitate to get me a rental when I asked.
IIRC, the FX4 shock are no longer the Ford Rancho junk. They are different shocks, but look like a standard shock. I replaced mine with Bilsteins and wish I’d done it sooner. I could compress the Ford Rancho by hand easily and they were very slow to rebound.
Glad there wasn’t more damage to your truck. My friend bought a new 250 and one of his front brake calipers came off. Found out the bolts weren’t tightened and worked their way out. As long as humans have their hands in the assembly of anything, there will be mistakes.
