Nice! That sounds like an awesome trip. You might want to drive a little further north and go to New York City to see the 911 Memorial Museum and the Reflecting Pools at the base of the twin towers. I want to take my family to see them at one point. Have a great trip.
AS ALWAYS, CASH IS KING!
I went there a couple years ago what a moving place. 911 museum is a very moving and somber place. You cant miss going in the elevator in One World trade. It will cost to go in it but worth every penny. Have a little lunch on the top floor.
Now for the down side. There is only one camp ground near New York City. its across the river from Lower Manhattan.Nothing more than a parking lot. No sewer hookup but water and electric. Not cheap ether @ $100 a night.
You have to walk around the harbor to catch the ferry across to NYC. no big deal but just for information. You also need to go and see the Statue of Liberty. We went to late in the day so we missed Ellis Island. You can drive to the ferry very easy just set your nav to avoid the toll road there. When you get to where you get on the ferry go all the way to the front and park. It's free there We parked in the lot and there were lots of empty spaces. I didn't see them marked handicap but worth the drive up just to see. The ferry building is in a old train station. Very cool. We went to the Empire State building also. So much to see and do in NYC. We even had some pizza there LOL.
Just logged back on.. truck didn't skip a beat. Had all my tools and everything and I didn't need nothing. Just fuel! Thanks for all the input.
Good to hear!

Thanks for the info. Our little guy is six now so will probably wait until he gets older. I've been to New York City before and I'm glad I don't live there. Nuff said. I have heard the 911 sights are very emotional. New York City is 8 hours away from Buffalo.
And Buffalo pizza is way better than the pizza there.

We won't have time to get to NYC... I went there when I was still in the Army, in between deployments. Pretty moving. I've been to DC once before, too. My wife and kids have never been.
We're only going to GA and NC to see my wife's family. I met her while stationed in NC, so I've been all over that part of the country. My daughters were born there, but haven't been there in years. Only my youngest is coming with us. Going to be a long trip, but we're taking 3 weeks and my daughter gets her license the day before we leave so we can all share driving duties.
