Hood inner reinforcement
I am kinda doing an A1 job so the surface rust that sits between the inner face of the hood and the reinforcement frame kinda bugs me ....
I was planning on removing it from the hood the acces the back of both parts to get rid of alle the hidden rust.
Has anybody tried this before ?
Am I heading straight to disaster ?
Any input will be appreciated.
Phil
Yeah, I think you're not necessarily headed towards disaster, but I think you're headed for a lot of work.
What I would do is leave the reinforcement in place and use a product Eastwood sells. It's called Internal Frame Coating. It comes in an aerosol can with a flexible tube and nozzle that can get into very tight spaces. It's a spray that neutralizes the rust and is paintable. It's also very thin so it can creep into tight spaces.

Usually I am not a big fan of ''Solutions in a can'' but this product would probably do the trick.
The rust is not very heavy but I still need to get rid of it for obvious reasons.
I do realize that removing the inner structure would be a delicate operation.
I'll think about it for another 24H.
Thanks for your help guys !
Cheers
Phil
