I have my old programmer from my 2016. I seem to see conflicting reports about it being able to be used on my 2019 F-250. I know none of the pre-loads will work but shouldn't it take a custom program? Does anyone have first hand on this?
I was going to do the same thing with my x4 from my explorer and just get the diesel tubes from my contact at Innovative Diesel. He, the owner, said I can't use the x4 but I can use the BDX by SCT. I had been out of the aftermarket scene for a few years until I got into my Explorer. Now that I'm back in a new truck I'm having to learn a whole new spectrum of systems and their limitations. Gone of the days of plug and play upgrades.

i think each tuner is married to a specific truck, so you may have to get it unmarried from your old truck and then re-married to your new truck first. Either contact whoever you bought it from or SCT itself.

Yes. Did this once going from a 2014 to a 2016. They're married to a VIN. I had to send it back to get it done. I forgot what they charged but it wasn't free that's for sure.

They are only married while tuned. If you return to stock, it can be used on another truck without issue.
My 2011 had the SCT3 installed. I gave 5 Star my ECM code so it was married to my vehicle. I was told I could revert to stock 5 times only before I had to send it back in to get unlocked. They also said if I wanted to use it on another vehicle I had to get it reprogrammed because it was married to the truck via ECM code. If you go to order one on their website it still asks for the ECM code. The N-Gauge tuner they use now is quite a bit more sophisticated then the SCT tuners they used pre 2017.

I'm trying to recall the exact circumstances. I had 2 tunes loaded onto the SCT for my 2014. But if I remember correctly I had to send the thing back to get the tunes wiped, new VIN info loaded and tunes reinstalled for the new (2016) truck. Seems like it was a hundred bucks or so, but I honestly can't remember the figure.
I found that the 5 Star tunes and the whole experience was pretty much a waste of time and money. But that's another topic.
