I am trying to get the drivers side up pipe out. My issue is the bolts that go into the collector are so seized they have rounded off. I can not get them out for the life of me. Is it even possible to pull the drivers side out from the top????
Everything I am reading says they need to come out from the bottom. What a PITA. I may have to run to the store and get some saw zall blades and cut it just bellow the collector.
Buy Lenox Gold. Used a Milwaukee brand to cut exhaust bolts. Did one bolt and was dull.
Went to local store and bought the Lenox ones.
One blade did all the rest of bolts.
Dumb luck. Now that is all I buy.
Thanks for the input fellas, I called my father to help give me a hand I just need someone to manipulate the flange that connects to the exhaust manifold while i pulled from the top and we got it out. Both bellowed pipes are now in the truck. Defiantly the not a fun job haha
I like that extractor set looks sweet defiantly needs to get one.
Wait until you drive it without leaking uppipes, it spools up so much quicker. As an upside, no more exhaust smoke pouring into the cabin!
Consider a downpipe while in there.
Good looking out, I already have a DP. I gave my buddy a call who did up pipes on his SD and he said doing the up pipes and putting a billet compressor wheel where the best things he did to the truck. He said it seemed brand new.
I ordered the SPX 5 fin compressor wheel should be here soon, and still waiting on Irate diesel fuel kit though... Kind of a bummer they forgot to ship it, Im moving up to Oregon here in less than 2 weeks. I want to have a week to drive the **** out of the truck before I make that 14 hour drive.
Where in Oregon are you moving. I live in southern Oregon about 35 minutes north the the Cali Boarder.
Central Oregon, the shop I will be working for is out of Bend. Im super excited bird hunting is my passion in life and I can not wait to get up there!! So much to do its an outdoorsman paradise. I love the high desert and could not be more stoked that I will be in that area. Its truly a dream come true.

Ya, surprisingly they kind of shrugged it off like it was nothing. I even called and spoke with Matt before I ordered and it and he told me it would be at my place this past monday...I asked if they could through a free shirt in with the order. I should of had them overnight it lol o well. Im just happy to get that *****ty beans e fuel kit out of there. I really like Irates new billet pump design it sits much higher on the frame rail and I wont have to worry about clipping the thing going through some ruff country

Great area, lots of hunting and fishing. No sales tax in Oregon and no emission inspection on your diesel truck. Just license it for two years, think I paid about $80 total. You will pay a bit more first time around because of new plates required, but not much.
Good time to move, winter can be a bit cold and snowy in Bend sometimes so the 4x4 is nice to have, just in case.
So the Irate kit showed up today. I removed the fuel filters to make it lighter to clamp it to the bracket to drill the frame out, and as I look up I notice only one o-ring on the filter base. I walked over to the box where I put the filters and no o ring on the other filter. Let alone did they forget to ship it, its not even a complete kit, I am not going to lie I am super pissed now. I also do not like how they want me to attach to the factory return line, wouldnt be a big deal if I wasnt running a Beans E fuel kit and the hard lines have been just collecting dirt and muck for 6 years now. I will just use my Beans E-fuel return line and connect it to the new regulator. So far Irate is a complete fail.

Welcome to Oregon ...
Thanks brother, I have the heard winters can be mild to gnarly lol. I dont have too much experience with driving in snowy conditions other than being on a hunting trip and driving through the Pequop Mountains in NV during a blizzard. My dumb Californian *** didn't even know people used 4x4 on the highways lol. Once I made it to Wells I pulled over for the night. When I was getting fuel I noticed I had one head light out and it was so bad of conditions when I was along the highway I would hit the braille on the side of the highway and I couldn't tell if it was on my left or right LOL.
Speaking of headlights has anyone ran the LEDs from CP addict? My halogens are a joke, I was hunting with my dad last season and he couldnt even tell my headlights where on!
Sucks, man... Sorry you're having a bad time with that kit. FWIW, you get new o-rings when you buy the filters, so if you go buy one you'll have what you need (and a spare filter for later as long as you don't mind reusing the o-ring when you change it).
I've been eyeing up those LED conversions from CP as well, but I've not run them. My experience with the bad headlight output is that it's often caused by a combination of things. Inadequate current to the lamps is one (there's a relay mod out there for this). The big one is the yellowing of the plastic in the headlight lenses. It's amazing how big a difference it makes to have clear lenses.
