My power steering pump is a remand unit, and I have no idea what kind. Pulley has something like a 3/8" hex in the end with threads in the bottom of the hole. I'm doing the final tear down before paint and I can't see how this pulley comes off.

It has to be pressed off the shaft, then pressed back on.
It's a straight press fit on and off. Get thee a Lisle 39000. Some parts stores will loan them for free:
I have one and it worked great on my '84.
I had a heck of a time removing the PS pulley on my 84. I finally put the whole pump assembly in a chop saw and carefully brought the blade down behind the pulley and cut the shaft off.
I then put the pulley in a proper hydraulic press and pressed the remaining piece of shaft out. Once everything was cleaned up, the PS pulley tool kit worked great to press the new pulley on the new pump.
The removal tool will take them off, even if they are stuck. You need two wrenches on the tool, the one autozone rents while less pieces, works better.
