Fourth Starter Relay
It's gotta be something else, right?
Go to start the truck one day after it was running like a top. Same bad starter relay symptom. Turn the key forward for WTS, and get the clicking in and out dash lights.
This will be the fourth time I'm changing out the SR in the past three years. It's an Autozone $40 special with "lifetime warranty".
Is it possible it's just complete garbage?
I'll be purchasing a Motorcraft from the dealer this morning, but wouldn't that indicate an underlying problem?
This is the kind of stuff that sucks all the fun out of running this PSD van; crap shoot reliability.

yes, not only possible but very likely. Autozone is good for rags and oil, everything else OEM
