Hi all. I’ve been hanging onto a practically flawless CA rust free 64-66 tailgate. I paid a pretty hefty price for it like 10-12 years ago. Anyone here give me a rough idea of its current value. Just like when I was looking 10 years ago for one, there’s none listed on fleabay to get competitive prices.
Biggest problem for selling a tail gate is "Shipping". Are you willing to ship? Cost of shipping and how well you'll package it.
Selling depends on buyers, is cost of item and shipping worth it? You can ask for $300.00 - $500.00
When you bought it, what did you pay for it? And was it shipped to you?
I don’t remember exactly what I paid for it… I remember them being very very expensive back then like $500 for a good one. I couldn’t find one that wasn’t rusted out and nobody made a repro unless it was 67-72. What I do know is I paid less than that shipped by FedEx...
I'm in the process of attempting to fix my tailgate right now for my 64, not sure how well it's going to go. I may be interested. Throw a number out there if you want, I may be interested.
I don’t want to break any rules since this is not a classified section but if you want to shoot me a PM I can get your contact information. I’m very early and trying to figure out what this thing is worth and then figuring out shipping and all that other stuff. This is why I haven’t tried to sell it until now
I paid $500 for the one on the left and drove to pick it up so no shipping involved luckily. It was taken off when the truck was new and stored in a barn in Eastern, WA which is a surprisingly very dry climate. Original paint and hardware is all in good shape. Almost a shame I don't have a white truck that uses that bed style.
Incidentally, those are both 1966 F250 Styleside bed tailgates. Shows the difference in bed opening width between "wrong bed" and newer Styleside.

Sounds good, I'm in no rush. When you figure things out, shoot me a message. Take your time

Reason: Wrong quote
If anyone is looking - especially on the West coast - Oregon or Southeast Washington - this looks like a pretty decent one. Not mine, just thought someone might be interested. Also another possible data point for valuation if it sells.
Thank you. It looks like $500 +\- is probably a good figure.
