Hey everyone, new to the forum. I have a 03 f350 6.0 powerstroke with 202k. Bought the truck about a month ago. Since then i replaced oil with rotella t6 and filter(motorcraft), used hot shot secrets stiction eleminator, replaced fuel filters(motorcraft), flushed coolant and put in rotella elc, added coolant filter, blue spring mod, edge insight cts2 monitor. Since i bought the truck ive been getting P0272 dtc code. Cyl. 4 contribution/balance. The truck will start up cold and run and idle fine with no issues or smoke. But once the truck gets up to temp and gets hot it will idle rough( just a minor rough idle)but wont do it all the time. or when going up a steep slope slighty pushing the gas you can feel it slighty bucking. I can clear the code with my monitor and it wont come back on for a while (maybe a few hrs). It wont always idle rough when hot or throw a P0272 code. But the only time it does idle rough is when it is hot. Any suggestions on what to do to fix the problem would be great. Thanks alot!
If your FICM voltages are fine, I'd probably change that injector. Use only a genuine Ford part, it's not that expensive when ordered online from a place like Auto Nation White Bear Lake.
Yes the FICM voltages are good. Usually 47.5-48.5 while driving. The previous owner did say truck sat for a month or so and wasnt ran. Is there any fuel additives that i can run to maybe clear up the injector? Ive ran the hot shot secrets diesel extreme through it when i first got the truck knowing it sat for awhile.
Some run 2-stroke oil with TC-W3 in the fuel with 1oz to 1 gallon diesel ratio. Diesel Kleen makes a good product but honestly that sounds like time to replace the injector. My issue is @ #1 but it's only when cold starting so I'm optimistic that I can use additives to sort this out @ only 76k miles.
