Does anyone have the specs on the ICP voltages and pressures?
These sensors seem pretty cheap looking for the price.
Is it possible to sub it for a more reliable scientific or industrial part?
I have a $10 Chicom in my glovebox for a spare but would never run a non Motorcraft unit.
That Zibbix marketing want you to believe the seal is the issue you need to be concerned about but that isn’t even close to the issue.
the actual ceramic chip that turns pressure into a voltage is itself a dumb chip and all the Icp sensors would have more or less the same chip, where the magic happens in the Motorcraft is the propriety chip that is programmed to compensate for temperature differentials to give accurate and precise readings for the intended purpose, any non Motorcraft ICP is going to have a generic chip and no interpreting chip. It will work as much as it will run but doubtful it would be able to run as well as a Motorcraft chipset.
Cheaper sensors usually have less copper shielding. My truck used to hiccup putting it lightly around radio towers. Sometimes it would not even turn back on without excessive cranking in the middle of a highway with cars almost hitting you. At 125/sensor that’s cheap enough for me. Just dropped 460 on my Yamaha o2 sensor that was real fun.....considering they used to be 200 or so but I’m now ready to head into the rough seas with confidence my #1 cylinder is not leaning out under demand!
