SB vs LB

Pulled the trigger and ordered a 2019 f350 CCLB 6.7 Lariat Ultimate with all the bells and whistles.

This will be my first long box. I'm starting to have second thoughts about going with LB. Will I really notice a huge difference? This will be my daily driver and pull a 38 foot fifth wheel occasionally.

I fit everything in my SB. The LB would be impractical for a daily unless you live in a rural area.

I had a similar debate with myself before I bought mine. But I am glad I got the CCLB especially a week ago when I had to haul 7.5' boxes of flooring. I came from a CC tacoma with a 5' bed. So this is a lot more truck but I have not had any issues with parking or getting around. Just do it!

I daily drive mine and it is fine. You just park in the back and walk a little farther.

Long bed = 48 gallon fuel tank.
I guess a short bed is ok if all you ever carry is a couple 2x4's.

Of course it depends on your needs. I have a utility trailer with a 6X10 bed so I didn't need a LB. These trucks don't have a real good turning radius and even a SB Crew Cab can be a pain to maneuver at times. Unless you really need the LB I would Opt for the SB as a daily driver. Since you have a SB you already know if it meets your needs.

I wanted a long bed bad but can’t park it where I live so I got a CCSB. I can use it to pull a trailer.

I have to have a longbed for work so I got another regular cab base model. Have had 3 over the years, really night and day difference if you need to haul construction goods.

I have been daily driving a long box crew can for almost a decade. Never had an issue as I always park out in the back 40 when going anywhere. Unlike my wife, I do not have issues with door dings. My new 2019 F-250 also has the 48 gallon tank which I wanted.

Thanks for the input folks! As noted in my signature, I have driven a SB for years. Never had an issue even in tight spaces downtown Montreal! Take pride in really knowing the size of my vehicle. I am not one to park on top of the door so walking from the back is something I already do. What is the biggest difference I will see? 48 gallon tank will be great! Turning radius I assume will take a serious hit?

Thanks again y'all!
Rod.

Long bed the last 2 trucks and never plan on going back to short bed. I daily drive mine and have not had issues. Just swing a little wider.

I’ve had both. Shortys are much more attractive IMO, but that’s me and looks are always subjective. If for some reason I haul something that won’t fit in an extra foot+ of long bed space, which is practically never, I have plenty of trailers.
As long as you don’t plan on urban parking, the difference in driving as a daily isn’t much at all.

I doubt you are going to have those with the LWB tell you they hate them. Same goes for the SWB crowd. It all depends on what you need, want and like. I prefer the SWB. Sure there may have been a few times a LWB would have served better. But, for what I do the SWB is more compliant.
