i put a titan 50 gallon on my 2012 CCSB if that is the issue. I was a little concerned but I can’t imagine ever buying a another SB.

I had an F350 CCLB. It was primarily my tow vehicle and I seldom drove it unless I was towing or needed to haul something. I used to tow with Vans (as my screen name implies) and didn't mind driving them occasionally just to keep them in the mix and not sitting between tows. But the CCLB 350 was a pain to maneuver in tight quarters and urban environs. Turning radius sucked and its length mean it was often too long to park in many spaces. Few parking garages would accommodate it. And forget street parking it.

I now have a CCSB which I daily about half the time. Parking is sometimes still tight but its way easier than the CCLB.

Oh I forgot one more thing - there are lots of drive-thru's, at least where I live, that a CCLB would not fit in. So not a good truck for the fast food connoisseur

Long bed is the only way to go. With the 360 camera, parking is not stressful, just take your time. The 48 gallon tank is awesome, and the extra foot and a half of bed is often the difference between hooking up a trailer vs. just taking your truck.

I just went from all short beds to a CCLB and I love it! My deciding factor was my rzr takes up all the room in my toy hauler but we also take dirt bikes and other toys and I wanted to just be able to load and shut the tailgate and not strap the tailgate as tight as i could against the bikes tires. Is it a noticeable difference? Yes. Is it a problem? No
Im the guy that's parked at the farthest space away to avoid door dings so parking it isn't an issue for me.
I thinks it's one of those things that once you drive something for a while you just get used to the size and it's no big deal. I wondered the night I brought it home if I made a mistake going LB but am glad I did.

I commute in my CCLB every single day. I live in a rural setting and commute into the sprawling suburbs and park in a lot next to all the hybrids. I am very happy with the long bed and I'm glad I drive it. I can always figure out where to park. I can go to the supermarket or strip mall and park just fine. I am a little embarrassed about my 3-point parking turns but that's what it's like. The BLIS feature helps me size up spots to parallel park and the cameras help me place the truck exactly where I want it. I don't want to drive something boring and a Super Duty is not boring!

I definitely live in suburbia and commute about 100 miles to work in suburbia when I'm not travelling. Otherwise, the truck will spend most of its parked life at the airport as I fly around North America regularly for work. I'm not your average nervous driver. I drive a big truck because I want to. Yes I pull a 38' fifth wheel but that is very occasionally. I pull my boat in the summer a few times a week but the truck is certainly overkill for my 18 footer. I live in a town of about 30K people and everyone knows when I'm driving around. No one else drives HD trucks for pleasure here.

Thanks to you all for your opinions. Makes me feel better about my ordered LB which I expect in June. As long as she fits in my driveway at home (which she will with tons of room) I am happy!

If you use your truck for a truck...once you go longbed, you won't go back. I had a short bed once. ONCE. I won't own one now.
Far too long have I watched friends & strangers with shortbeds struggle to strap down items too long for the bed, or try to stuff them in the bed with the tailgate closed...I've even been there & done that.

And whats interesting is that my SCLB is the exact same length as my friends 2013 Ram 2500 CCLB.

Long bed.

Its a truck and I use it.

SBs seem to be for folks that just want to say they have a truck. It’s practically useless.

If I didn’t need a truck I might drive a Porsche! Lol!

I bought my CCLB to tow a trailer. I have the 6.2 gas and wanted the large fuel tank and 8’ bed. The truck rides nice and feels real stable towing even in 30 mph crosswinds. I used to own a Tacoma so this was a huge jump in size for me. It took a while getting use to it in tight spots. I don’t think a short bed would have helped much in tight spots, and the small tank and wheelbase would not in my opinion been useful for towing. These trucks are made to haul stuff, get the one that can haul the most.

Buy the whole truck. Plus the 48 gallon tank is great. Parking with the 360 degree camera is easy. Drive it everyday.

Exactly . When I lived in a city and didn't need a truck I owned a Porsche and other german cars. Close in price to these things, and as much as people like showing off their shiny trucks, a buffed and waxed 911S Cab took all the stares. Now I have trailers and work construction and not only want but do need the 8' and extra stability of the LWB. One route back to my house includes navigating 4 narrow switch backs, up 800 ft, with tight turns. The turning radius seems to be less than a couple of feet more than the F150 CCLB (6.5') and really doesn't feel that much different. When I traded in my '12 CCLB to a dealer in Denver 2 years ago they commented that the LB is what people are looking for in their area.

Really depends on what you use the truck for. I really need the LB for my farm duties. Use every inch of the bed frequently. If I didn't need the LB, I'd probably go with a SB. The LB's are definitely not the most maneuverable vehicles around..You do kind of have to plan your parking and such in more crowded areas. Either way, I doubt you will regret getting a LB.

I agree about not wanting to drive something boring, that’s why I DD a Camaro and my Sierra has the 6.2 in it. I doubt a super duty with long bed and 7.3 will be boring. I live in a rural setting and commute to a rural setting but have to go through a small town to get there. My truck sees DD Duty in winter but mostly real work towing and hauling in the summer. It also serves family duty a good bit as a rear facing car seat doesn’t fit in my car.

I’m still on the fence about the 8 foot bed...

You can also do an extended cab long bed to shorten it up some. I considered it but I wanted a higher trim level and they top out at Lariat Value package. You can also do the camper package on the F250 to get some more spring capacity and a sway bar. Some suggestions to consider...

I was flipping through this or another thread earlier and someone mentioned rear airbag seatbelts and they do not work well with most baby seats. The guy that bought my last truck had to change to a different baby seat because of them he said. I ordered my 19 platinum without them.
