You have it figured, small fuel tank cost 1k plus to replace and you don't mind parking away=long bed. Have owned both

You already purchased the truck, I would think you're kinda stuck... My preference is SB because the extra 16" isn't going to make a huge difference. When I'm buying 12' long boards, I'm using my trailer anyway. I would never buy a 5.5ft F150 though because even for a light duty truck, that bed is worthless.

Another potential benefit to a long bed is that if you ever severely damage your bed, replacement beds are plentiful and cheap (because nobody replaces a short bed with a flatbed or utility body). My next truck is even going to be Oxford White (instead on Platinum White) for that reason.

Once the option for a larger fuel tank opened up for the short bed it sealed the deal for me...that and I a frequent an older downtown metropolitan area where parallel street parking is sometimes the only option because parking garages are so short.

Turning radius suffers but you'll figure it out. Parking is a little more challenging but you'll figure that out, too. I can have my big weathertech toolbox plus an ATV in the bed with the tailgate closed, it's fantastic. Never looked back.

From what I can tell the long box is only 16” longer than the short bed FWIW. Feel free to correct me.

As long as you don’t plan on urban parking, the difference in driving as a daily isn’t much at all.
I remember when four door trucks started appearing on the streets. Funniest looking things I ever saw. Now, a regular cab long bed looks funny to me.

It should be a decision based on use and accessibility (and desire for some) I've had all LB F250's (2-CC, 1-SC) and thought I could make do with a CC ~6.5' Bed F-150 (longest bed available in F150 with 4 full doors). It was about three days after buying the truck did I realize I made a bad mistake and lived with it for almost a year until I finally bit the bullet and traded it in for my 3rd F250 CCLB. I work construction, so the 8' bed is very valuable to me. Also, for towing the longer wheel base helps stabilize more, especially when pulling big trailers. My parking habits are pretty much the same, except I do tend to look for two length wise spaces at the back (usually easy to find) a bit more than I did with the F150. I don't mind the exercise of the extra 150' or so I have to walk. If you have tight parking, or a shallow garage and no alternative then you probably should go with the SB or consider an SCLB.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but having had both bed lengths there is DEFINITELY a noticeable difference in turning radius and overall maneuverability. That doesn't mean you made a mistake though, the long bed is great because you can have a tool box and still plenty of bed space left behind it unlike a short bed.

Whenever I buy my next truck, I will be open to long or short bed. I like both for different reasons

I got a LB so I can put motorcycles in and still have the tailgate up. I don't really have any problems with maneuverability, but I don't live in an urban area. Plus, it's not my DD, for the most part I drive it when I need to haul something. Also for me the 48g tank was a big plus!

This will be my first long box. I'm starting to have second thoughts about going with LB. Will I really notice a huge difference? This will be my daily driver and pull a 38 foot fifth wheel occasionally.
City dealers don't take kindly at trade-in time if you have a LB.
Where I ordered my'19 KR CC LB , they would barely give me $50k for my '17, KR, CC, LB, why? They are a volume dealer in the city and with over 200 trucks on the lot, not a single one was an LB. That said I sold mine where I live Rural and got $61,500 no haggle, the first guy to look drove it away. Out where I live they are all LB, SB you could not give it away.

This is my first CCLB and have no practical need for it but I absolutely love the way it looks and there’s just are not very many of them comparatively speaking to the CCSB. I also have a 2002 4wd Excursion that I think might be worst in fitting into different spots than my truck is. I daily drive it and I don’t really see where it is a problem. Do it and don’t look back.

I too am strongly considering the 8 footer. Has anyone totally despised driving around a CC LB?

I want the long bed for the 48 gallon tank. I’m also thinking with a bed cap and roof rack that I can fit a canoe up on top.

Simple for me, I buy a truck because I need a truck, 8' only for me. I do Have an F450 so the turning circle is tighter than a CCSB,
I do not drive it daily though, and if I had a CCSB I wouldn't drive it daily either. A cheap commuter is cheaper to drive and easier to park that any full size pickup.
Current DD is a 2007 Honda CRV. Its a lot nicer than I usually have for a DD, but we wanted an AWD vehicle in addition to the F450.
