2013 F250 reduced power warning
have been having The reduced power warning occur when the truck is loaded. Towing up a hill or going to pass another car. Code P0087 low fuel rail pressure. Fuel Filters are new and motor craft. I just replaced the fuel pump on frame under cab with genuine motorcraft part. Still occurs. After warning light comes one along with check enginelight I can turn truck off and crank it right back up and the reduced engine disappears and I have full power. After severl hours the check engine light will also disappear. I am out of options. Does anyone have a suggestion.
Posted to another thread. They suggested hook to computer to see what causes it and to make sure filter was tight and o ring was lubed. This is what occured.
Filter is tight, yes I put a little oil on green O ring. Hook to computer today and drove. It took me about 20 minutes of testing before I could make the reduce engine warning appear. It occured while accelerating from 40 to about 65 passing someone. Demand for fuel was 21k and it only delivered 18.5k. Code P0087. Low fuel rail pressure.

I have the same exact truck 2013 and had the same exact issue two weeks go . It ended up being the fuel pressure regulator on the back of the fuel rail . Not one issue since I replaced it . The only thing is I bought the part and didn’t have the time to do it so I was going to wait over the weekend and then it completely died and I had to have it towed back to my house to fix it . Usually when they go this happens for a few weeks then one day truck just dies . Takes 15 minutes to replace .

Thank you. I will replace that and see what happens as I am out of ideas.

It’s so easy to do parts $150 from ford I bought it on eBay $75 and it’s an oem ford part not aftermarket. Look on YouTube for videos . You have to take the drivers side wheel well out and then it’s in the back of the fuel rail by the fire wall . I did it in 15 minutes truck started right up and hasn’t had a hick up since . Just have to sycle the key like 6 times after install on for 30 seconds at a time . I read like 95 percent of people woh this issue this was there problem .

What happened to all the ideas people gave you on the other forum or did you not revisit it? The above item was one of those listed as possible problems in this post I made....
