Unhappy Turn of Events

Our company does long term leases with Enterprise Trucks, Just got out of a 2018 F-250 XLT LB and into a 2019 XLT SB, wasn't crazy about the SB because of the reduced fuel capacity but, oh well! Last night just got in from a 1700 mile trip, grabbed the wife and headed to the daughters to see the kids. On way home about 10 PM about 1 mile from there home, truck pops the Low Oil Pressure Warning light, within 10 seconds, Speed de-rated, Check Engine lights come on and truck bangs like crazy. Hit the key off and coasted to the side of the road. Sit for 10 min. and re-cycle key, no lights, motor fires and no oil pressure. Killed motor and called Roadside Assistance. Truck towed to Ford, waiting on word but thinking something bad must have broken quickly to happen that fast!

Sounds like one of those Chit Happens events. Just like the human body, sometimes the truck gets sick or gets a runny nose or blown engine. Hope they can repair it quickly for you.

did you check the oil level yourself before attempting a re-start?

That should have been your first action.

In my years of wrenching on Fords, I've replaced my share of 6.0L diesel engines an even greater share of 6.4L diesel engines, but only ONE 6.7L engine. That should speak to the quality of it compared to the 6.0L/6.4L it replaced. The good news is, you're covered under warranty by the sounds of things, so your only inconvenience is the down time while repair takes place. Please keep us informed.

Kind of sounds like mine unfortunately. My lower engine blew. Threw 2 rods and a main bearing.

Well we are one week in and no little more then we did last Fri. night. Ford dealer said they have two motor jobs in right now and hope to finish them today or tomorrow. Mine is to go in Monday so they can "Dig" into it and see what happened. I'm guessing a month minimum if I'm lucky!
