so my 2019 6.7 has push bottom start....something to watch out for is.....
if you hold the start button down with out hitting the brakes..that's supposed to start the fuel pump.
this something you need to do if you drain fuel from the fuel / water separator or if you change the filters to purge the air before starting.
BUT...if you push the start button with the door open...thinking the pump will start so you can purge the air...THE TRUCK WILL START IF THE DOOR IS OPEN. This will be a problem if you replace the engine bay filter.
I just changed both filters Sunday and mine didn’t start. Had the door open so I could lean in and push the start button and listen while the pump pushed fuel. Did it 3 times w 30 seconds each time.
Thats not good if yours started w your foot not on the brake
Either you were touching the brake or there is a problem your dealer should check out. Yes, this is how you prime the fuel filters, but it should not start unless the brake is depressed. Do you have any other glitches?
Something is wrong with your truck.
Truck should not start unless brake pedal is pushed.
I changed my fuel filters on my 2019 this weekend and I pushed the start button only and fuel pump came on like it is supposed to and I could hear the new filters filling with fuel.
I did this 2X before I held the brake pedal and started it.
I wonder if the door being open allows the key to be acknowledged. is the key still in your pocket with you? try leaving it elsewhere
something to try...but if I leave the key else where the door should stay locked and not let me in.
issue here is while doing the fuel system priming with no foot on brake...pushing the button should prime the fuel system and if I keep it down...I should get a prompt that I am in full accessory mode.
the problem is with the door open...I don’t get a press brake to start...and it does not prompt that I am in full accessory mode...it just starts with no tap on brake if the door is open. With door closed it behaves correctly.
