If you have Sync 3 I would really try to do it all OEM. That's what I did. I have a Lariat Value and I already had 4 connector present and the BCM was prewired along with the cab to the doors. If I didn't have anything prewired I would have still done it. Took some time but overall it came out OEM and was able to function with Sync. With Sync and Forscan you are able to change the colors. Forscan uses 2018 adjustability where 2019 trucks are factory preset blue. Although I have a 2019 I did the Forscan to get the 2018 adjustability. I suggest looking at the F150 XLT link in the 2019 thread you posted above.
Can you confirm the 2019 f150 XLT has ambient lighting option? Available through forscan? Is it prewired for the LEDs or do I need to add a whole system?
I can't find the link that says this specifically.
