Power tilt

Imagine my surprise and joy this morning to find my power tilt has stopped working. I hated this option from day 1 and thought it was a matter of time before it stopped working, 16k miles I guess is my answer of how long it will last...
It also is appearing that my memory seat is not working, although I am not sure that it is not working as a safety because of the tilt or if it is a completely separate issue...

I too have had this happen.. Took it straight to the dealer.. It ended up resetting itself once I turned the ignition off ..

I did try that as I was driving in, I pulled over and shut it off and turned it back on but it didn't do anything.. I'll go try it now that it has sat for a while, and cross my fingers

Mine did the same one. it was after I was sitting with the engine off in the cab for a long time, turned the ignition on (engine off) to listen to the radio. when I started the truck the seat and steering wheel did not go back to the drive position (I am using the easy exit feature that lift the wheel and moves the seat back on shut down). I tried shutting down and restart and tried to move the steering wheel again but no luck. When I tried it the next day everything was back to normal and has worked sense.

After letting it sit for a while I tried it again and it works.. wonder how long it will work before completely giving up. What was wrong with the old fashioned manual tilt?
There isn't really a part of this feature I find necessary of convenient, it takes longer to put up and down than the manual and I do NOT see this lasting as long as the old fashioned way.. I'm just waiting for it to break

Love my power tilt.. Hate the manual steering tilt. No problems with mine at all, Matter of fact, I have not had any problem in the last 8 Ford trucks I have owned with it.

Sorry for your bad luck. Hope it continues working.

cant you just leave it in one place and not move it? Mine never moved until I turned the easy exit feature.

I guess you could never move the wheel but that would completely negate the feature?
I drive a lot of expensive equipment and semi trucks, all of which have tilt and telescoping wheels all of which are manual.. if Peterbilt, John Deere and Case IH haven't found a way to make it a power option and keep the longevity, im guessing Ford has not either...

Sound like you do things different than me, I get the t&t wheel where I want it when I am driving and leave it there, same with pedals and seat. Once it's where I want them they are saved in memory and only change if someone else drives it, or, like I have the truck set now, the easy exit feature.
I have other vehicles that have manual tilt wheels, and I never move them once they are set.

I only move the wheel up to get out, once I'm in I never move it.. I've never been a fan of the easy entry exit and have always turned it off, seems to take forever and I'm spry enough I don't need the the seat to go all the way back to get in and out of the truck

This is why I turn the easy exit off. I figure all it really does is extra wear and tear on the components. I've got my memory set, my wife's set. Those motors only run if she drives, and again when I switch back.

It's happened to me three times now. 16k and bought the truck last September. Each time the tilt is inoperable as is the memory seats.
Forscan pulled up a code last time I had it hooked up for a communication failure of some sort. I haven't checked this time but I'm confident there will be a code waiting for me. When I do I will write it down.
Sucks because I really like the easy exit feature and use it daily but when this failure happened last time my wife was driving and she could barely see over the steering wheel.
Thankfully you can still operate the seat manually to help mitigate the steering wheel height.
I'm sure it will only get worse with time as most of these electrical glitches do.

I just recently turned it on, in hopes that it will help the seat wearing out from sliding on and off. I will probably turn it back off soon

I have a Platinum and I believe it has this feature. I’m with some of the other posters as I don’t see how this feature really helps you get into and out of the vehicle that much easier since the trucks already have running boards and handles to pull yourself in. I guess if your stomach is so large that you need the extra room its a viable feature but otherwise it seems like unnecessary motion/gyrations.

I turned mine off today. Have only owned my truck for two months but never really saw a purpose for this.
