1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 is factory for the truck 302's. Distributor goes counterclockwise. Cylinders 1-4 front to back on passenger side, 5-8 front to back on driver's side.
The sequence is the same, but the cylinders are numbered differently, so it's pretty complicated to get it completely sorted out. Ford cylinder #1 is number 2 on a chevy I believe, but I don't remember for sure.
