I have a quick question about front brake calipers...
I have a 1978 Ford F-250 2WD, 351m, with single piston calipers, and when I look on ebay to purchase some, most sellers do not list them as LEFT or RIGHT, but when I check Rock Auto, every variant lists LEFT and RIGHT.
I checked my haynes manual, and it doesn't list any difference between LEFT and RIGHT single piston calipers...
They are different numbers, as brake hose enters below the bleeder screw. Bleeder screw is up high when mounted correctly, air bubbles up as well.
The calipers will physically fit either side, but hose and bleeders will be wrong if not correct side mounting.
As to rear wheel cylinders, I even swapped over from 1/2 ton F150 to 3/4 ton F350 RWC, same on each side. But yes calipers on front, differ right vs left.
Rear wheel cylinders won't interchange from right and left because the brake hoses will come in at different angles. swapping cylinders (if on the wrong side) will have the brake hose coming in from the wrong direction. I suppose you could bend a line to fit...

Thanks …. I thought they came straight in between mouting bolts, but you are right … I did use different numbers right and left. Reading your reply caused me to look back at notes. I fixed my post. Yeah, could bend a line, but not needed.
