Could someone both with and without replacement LEDs in the halogen housings try something for me?
With your truck off, turn the headlight switch to on, pull back the turn signal stalk for momentary high beams, then turn the headlights off.
Do your headlights stay on or go off?
I was testing my new LED bulbs, went to test the high beams (which didn't come on), and then I went to turn them off and the headlights stayed on. I needed to wait out the exterior lamp timeout until they went off. I don't recall this happening with the halogen bulbs.
Just trying to see if this is a quirk of the LED bulbs.
If you used the optional canbus adapters, that could be your problem, I used the beamtech leds and their adapters( there was lots of talk about the leds doing weird ****) , I was having long delays switching back to low beams and other problems such as you have described. Removed all 4 canbus adapters and all is normal
Nope, no CANBUS adapters. All seems well when I'm using the lights, switching the highs on, etc. when the truck is on; this only happens when the truck is off. Maybe the halogens did the same thing, I don't think so, but I don't know.
Factory Halogens, The headlights went off as I turned the switch off.
I just got Beamtechs with no canbus and I will try again after install. (Waiting for the switchback turn signal bulbs to arrive)
Thanks for reporting. I suspect it's a minor glitch and nothing to worry about. Just trying to see if it's consistent for others, and wondering if I should anticipate more. Unlike some, my truck has had no electrical gremlins to date and I don't want to cause any!
