Cool Update and Info

Hello all
My GF just bought a 1975 F150. stepwise.... she wants it to sell Flowers from....anyway
It is rough, very and I don't have much experience with Ford trucks, I'm a Ford car guy for sure.
so... I've done net searches until I'm beat... Here are some things the truck needs....
and I know that many of theses are just over the counter. but bear with me..
The front parking or turn lights that are over the head lights... I need the whole thing including the bucket...
side marker lights... the buckets and does anyone sell the whole item... (bucket, lens socket) as one unit
How are the tail lights mounted there are no body opening, so I guess they mount on some type of frame..
does anyone sell the whole thing.. I don't want to buy everything piecemeal..
Can you please give me the engine oil wt, I would normally go with 30,
Does anyone have some good pictures of a 75 stepwise... all around
In the past someone had converted this F150 to automatic... seems to run very good...
but they placed the shifter on the floor...
don't need to go through what it all needs, the ones I mentioned are very needed...
you can contact me directly at
Sanddoc@gmail.com. just saves from logging in...
we need a dipstick, crankcase vent.. oh yes, are they vented back to the carb base?
going to flush the brake fluid, oil, no power steering...
needs new wood bed, again no rush on that...
needs new windshield, found a national company that has them here local...
Anyone that has one of these, has anyone installed buckets out of another year F150. what year..
best again

1 what's a stepwise? Do you mean step side? Yeah that's a Chevy term, you mean flareside.
2. Is it really that annoying to log in?
3. Don't know if anyone that sells marker lights all in one.
4. Tail lights screw into the bed.
5. You're gunna get a ton of different opinions on oil wt.

Side marker lights.
Parking lamps located in the grille above the headlights. 1974 from serial number T80,001, 1975/77: The lens/body is a one piece molded plastic assy that the socket twists into.

1974 from serial number T80,001, 1975 and 1976 before serial number C50,001 have clear lenses using amber bulbs. 1976 from serial number C50,001, 1977 have amber lenses using clear bulbs.

Either version will work. 1973, 1974 before serial number T80,001 look the same, but are completely different.

Front fender amber marker lamps (same right/left) are the same: 1973/79 F100/350, 1975/91 Econoline, 1978/79 Bronco.

Windshield is the same: 1967/72 F100/750, 1973/79 F100/880, 1978/79 Bronco. Available from auto glass shops.

1973/79: TWO different windshield weatherstrips, with or without windshield reveal mouldings.

What size is the engine?

Pic: 1973/75 (1976/79 is similar) F100/250 Flareside tail lamp sare the same as 1973/79 F350/880 Cab & Chassis. The Flareside lamps attach to the bedsides with brackets.

Cab & Chassis do not have pickup beds, so the lamps attached to the sides of the frame.

Usually, yes. What engine and is it original? Post the VIN for decoding. How many bolts on each valve cover?

Pictures are gold.

And welcome to FTE! You've come to the right place. There are a ton of experienced people here willing to help.

I hope that my posting are of use to others and not just a bother...
I said I know nothing about these trucks... funny My Mom always said we needed a "truck" in the family.. well we never did have one...
my current project is my 62 Ford County Sedan.. which I have posted on here before... I need to install a "newer, no rust" floor, then down the road motor
updated the old 352 to my 350hp 351c which is backed by a 4R70W...
now on to the F150
the bones are pretty solid... even the body is not bad, the bed is shot..shows no rust in the floor pan. someone painted the whole truck with
rattle cans... she's not dripping old on my driveway...
the parking brake release seems to be coming through the kick panel vent.. is this correct.. Also where does the parking brake release
handle mount at...
I"ve got a list as long as a Oragatun's arms
Best
PS: now she's found a new "steering" wheel that is just "HER". HaHaHa

Shouldn't come thru the vent. Normally routed thru cab mount not sure where it enters the cab I believe a grommet. I can get pictures in a few. The release bolts up under the dash.

Couple things.... looking closer the handle says HOOD, no? You might have a locking hood mechanism. (Some don't like it because seconds matter with an underhood fire) others like it because your engine compartment is safe; your choice.

I'm not sure on the routing of that but I'd guess either straight thru the firewall with a grommet or follows the e brake cable which I'm posting pics of.

The release handle is mounted to the foot pedal to set the brake. The cable for the assembly goes thru the floor (I'm missing the grommet) and comes out of the cab mount.

Pay no attention to the green wire; crappy horn install by PO.
