Update and Info
Here's something on the engine oil. First, if it's got the original flat tappets, be sure you get an oil that is intended for flat tappet engines. Otherwise you could end up with a camshaft with round lobes. As far as viscosity goes, I don't have my 1975 shop manuals handy, but here's what Ford recommended in the 1976 shop manual. The 300 engine requires 5 U.S. quarts in the engine. Add 1 quart for the filter. The viscosity depends on what part of the world you're in, and what part of the year it is.
For multi viscosity oil: If it's consistently below +32F, use 5W-30 unless you're doing high speed driving. If so, use 10W-30.
-10F to +90F use 10W-30
-10F to +90F & above use 10W-40
All temperatures above +10F use 20W-40
For single viscosity oil:
-10F to +32F use 10W
+10F to +60F use 20W-20
+23F to +90F use 30
All temperatures above +60F use 40
I'm in the southern part of USA (it almost never gets down to +32F any more); I've used either 20W-50 or 15W-50 in mine. It's been working well, so far.
I think. that the Radiator in this Truck is for a V8 not an Inline 6..
If you know, did the 6 come with inlet\outlet on the same side (passenger)
this Radiator had a very long bottom hose, that has a coupling which I don't think is correct.
I guess the part number has no bearing now, just the placement of the hoses..

wrong, but the engine runs fine... #1. should be at the 5 O'clock position, but is set at the #10 O'clock
position?... I know the firing order is 1 5 3 6 2 4.
Any idea's. I have not yet checked the timing mark... which I will do tomorrow...
But this seems very odd ..
