When I bought this truck 2 years ago it did not come with a tire iron or the or the other accessories that rest in the clips on top of the radiator core support, but it did come with the 12,500 lb jack sitting under the rear bench on the passenger side. So I decided to try to put this mess back together and ordered the new tire iron and handle from Tasca. The tire iron was a slam dunk...correct size for the lug nuts and all, but swing and a miss on the handle needed to pump the jack up. The jack I have needs some sort of rectangular-shaped fitting to turn the yellow ****. So what the heck does that look like? I thought maybe you just used the other end of the tire iron to twist but that does not fit.
I also would kind of like to replace the broken plastic bracket the original handle pieces clip into but cant seem to find this parts available separately by Google searching. Also missing is the little metal bracket and wing nut to secure the tire iron into place on top of the radiator core. Any ideas where I could find these obscure little parts or maybe could somebody look at theirs real quick and take a picture with some part numbers so I could try to rummage through Ebay? I would like to put the tire iron in its proper spot if not the jack handles.
This is the handle that showed up. Obviously not the correct one for the jack I have. jack that came with the truck. P/N F81A-17080-BC Handle that showed up: P/N 4C2Z-17081-AA One of the clips is broken OEM tire iron: P/N F81Z-17032-AA jack sitting in its spot
The second picture from the top is missing the rod that fits in the Jack. Later model trucks had the tools next to the jack in the cab..Tne tools under the hood will be 200 degrees in the summer.
Okay thanks. Tasca sent me the wrong lever assembly (the two rods that click together) that is for the type of jack pictured in the upper right that "pumps" instead of "twists". I went to a helpful parts guy at a local dealership who dug into it and should have the correct lever kit coming in like the one pictured above. I he was also able to order one of those plastic brackets that they clip into since one of mine was broken when the bought the truck, and also the wing-nut keeper for the tire iron since that was lost.
No matter the jack type, it should still include the piece with the flattened end to be able to lower the spare tire.
My truck is a cab and chassis so the fuel tank takes up all the space where the spare hangs on a pickup. I believe on those from the factory they mount the spare laying face up on top the frame behind the cab, but I don't know what that mounting hardware looks like. I think it would interfere with my 5th wheel hitch anyway.
Should went to a junk yard, that stuff wouldn't have cost you more than $20. I can only imagine what Ford charged you.
He cut me a little break but you're right they don't just give these parts away. I've seen some of the parts on ebay in the past but that is hit or miss. They should be in today.
