I have a 94 f250 4x4,4:10 gears e4od and a mighty 7.5 what is a safe rpm at turnpike speed, right now on the factory tach the engine is turning ahout 2400 at 75.
A safe RPM is one that the engine will run at. The computer will not allow the engine to run at an unsafe RPM. It will turn off the injectors before it can exceed the safe speed.

It's probably sucking a good deal of gas at that speed but as long as the engine is in decent condition, it will hold together.
I never owned a big block, dont want to hurt it,as for the condition of engine 124,000,uses 1/2 qt. of oil every 3k,and at that speed empty on turnpike I an get 12.5mpg.she runs fine.I am the 2nd owner, never seen bad winter roads, put up for winter since new.thanks for your imput
This is where the engines computer has a designated redline and will either cut fuel or spark to keep the engine within its normal operating range in RPMs, this is NOT what you want to use as a guideline, your best bet is to look at the factory HP and torque ratings for your 94 460 and see where the peak HP is made at a certain RPM usually around 3500-4000rpm and keep that as your max working RPM, reason being the engine is not making any more power above those RPMs and will be wasting fuel and putting uneeded wear and tear on the engine internals.
According to driverside.com the peak torque for a ‘96 460 is 395 @ 2400 and 245hp @ 4000. I’d think a ‘94 would be fairly close to those specs. An engine is most efficient at peak torque so you are right where you need to be.
