87-91 repro door panels

After I get some exhaust work and my electric fans on I plan to redo the interior up as best as I can. My door panels are all cracked and falling apart on my xlt lariat.

I've been looking for new ones but it almost seems like there not made for factory door speakers to go behind? Is is a trick of the eye on panels like these? I know the oem speaker surround is not there. But is is just a mesh or is it cloth all the way through?

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about

I've looked through other brands , lmc, coverlay, Npd, that happen to carry panels and I just can't tell. Has anybody delt with these yet?

I'd just find decent used oem ones and paint em to match with sem paint, that's what I've done, holds up well.

we just did ours. The shape of the mesh of the panel won't match the shape of the speakers (round, 6.5 in). We used Pioneer TS-F1634R speakers which fit perfectly without the top plastic bars which come with them.
Tip: Get a bag (25) of those plastic retainers. Most likely you can't reuse the old ones. If you ever plan to take these panels off again, you'll loose/break the majority of them.

40-0793, retainer door panels, $0.95/pc or $8/bag (25)

I've been looking for for a good set of oe door panels but haven't had much luck finding good ones. Also looking for the wood grain trim since mines been painted before I got it. Painting the color back to original dark red I'll have to redo all the plastic bits again lol. But if it comes down to it I might take my original cloth insert out and speaker grill and swap them to the new panel if there made to come off the same way.

If anyone dealt with new replacement panels I'd like to know how the cloth insert goes across the panel
