Can you add the automatic door lock with the button to driver door that did not come with this option from factory? I would like to replace the driver handle due to the break in issue with the locking mechanism and would prefer to add the handle with the button.
I would like to do the same thing, but thinking about it you would have to have the RF key FOB, same as the push to start vehicles, as the truck would need to know you are present in order to allow the door to unlock. I think this might include replacing either the APIM or BCM module or both.

I don't see how a door handle with proximity sensors (they're not "buttons") would improve break-in issues.
removing the mechanical key lock, replacing with the proximity sensor to lock and unlock the door. If they really want to get in the truck they will, but a least removing the key lock and disconnecting the rod might deter them if that was the method of entry they were trying to use.

All 2015-up F150s and 2017-up Super Duty trucks have the same flaw ... pull the driver's door handle and the lock cylinder is exposed, regardless if has proximity sensors or not.
