Thanks for the research , Your Makita may not charge because there are different types of power , some are cleaner than others . An IT guy i know told me with laptops and tablets you need a certain type to recharge without damaging them . I think it has to be at 60 Hertz frequency to work. I still may go with the bigger unit just so i can use it for other things as well .
no problem, i think the makita has a fan in it, that charger is over twice as big as the hilti and dewalt. I have a 2000w Kawasaki generator for my business. it is clean power like the other guy said, it is ok for laptops and items that cant have surges. very similar to honda, real quiet and small. i can run two 6" Metabo grinders with it. But i wouldnt carry it just to charge a battery occasionally.
at one time i wanted to add batteries and large inverter to run power tools, but dont need it that often and can usually use homeowners exterior outlet
I wouldn`t do the generator , I still thinking i would get more out of the bigger inverter. I do some overnight fishing trips on the Allegheny river so i could always use it to power a coffee maker
