Do not overlook your tune. A lean mixture and insufficient timing advance will both develop greater cylinder temperatures.

You Check All the Holes in the Head Gasket own both Banks before Assembly?

Good point "GreyScar"! I don't know if the 302 is the same as the FE's But here is a pic:

It's easy to flip the gasket over- and cover the water passages.

Picture Look's good, I've had situations were Folks over look this little Detail. Does your Intake Have a x-over?
