Ok, got the confirmed 390 and now moving forward. I am thinking 7105 Edelbrock with 1406 Edelbrock carb? Any reason not to? I also am considering aluminum radiator with electric fans? Thanks

Skip the edelbrock carb unless you like dealing with Carter carbs. Go with a Holley or a Summit 600cfm vacuum secondary carb. The champion aluminum radiators are good, skip the electric fans. Keep a shroud on the mechanical fan and it will pull more air than the electric fan can.

Ditto on carbs. Yes, the Ebok doesn't have the leak issue like a Holley over time. But I'm not a fan of that style carb. They do work.
I've always run just fine with stock brass radiator and stock fan. For a "stock" kind of build it is more then adequate. Unless you live in the desert and need more cooling.

So, the intake would be a good choice? The reason I was leaning toward the 1406 is because I have one on another car I have. The radiator was more of appeal issue for me and not stuck on that anyway. I am probably ordering a Champion for a different car and was already looking at them.

I've never had any dealings with Performer intakes, so can't really say which one would be good for you. The std Performer or the RPM version? All depends on what kind of power band you want/need.

I was basing the Edelbrock on reading around the internet. I don't think it would be a bad decision. If think the 390 is just stock and no special needs, just a driver. Heading over with the 360 trans to see if it will be a little better for rebuild? So far everything looks the same on both transmissions externally.

I know opinions are like, well you Know. I stick with and Edel, unless you are Racing. No power Valves and Plastic Parts own the Edel, and you can Rebuild it own the side of the Road @ 2;00am Blind Folded. Damn best thing for a Daily driver since Electric Windshield Wipers.

Yeah, I'm not sure about some of this stuff so research and opinions help a lot. On the transmission, adding a 5th clutch to the 72 360 C6 using parts from what he says now probably was a 65 C6 trans. He said the new seals plus being able to use new fluid will help some of the old problems with C6 transmissions. If anyone is interested? This guy has been doing transmissions his entire working life. Plus affordable!
