Transmission 19S07 Recall results!

I just took my 2011 F150 ecoboost in for the software upgrade on the transmission recall. It noticeably shifts much harder now. It really banged going form 3rd back down to 2nd. Like scary bang! I called my service rep right away and of course, they haven't heard anything about it. They asked that I bring it back in. Anyone else experiencing harsh or much "firmer" shifting??? Never had any issues and I have 121K on her.

Several have had it done and no comment....... Make sure they got the software for the right YEAR and the right MOTOR.

This ^^. In some areas the Ecoboost software upgrade isn't able yet. It's possible they flashed the wrong stuff.

I'm thinking there's no real rhyme or reason to it. My '13 5.0 STX, 63K miles, , purchased new, has never once exhibited any kind of shifting problem. We hear a lot about it but that's a very small percentage of the machines out there.

The scan tool will not let the wrong software get flashed. Just drive it normally and the PCM will relearn how to shift the trans

2011 shifts hard 1-2 shift after recall upgrade, otherwise seems ok.

So this will go away? Even shifts hard in M using "+" to shift between 1 and 2.

Lead frame

After several problems after the software update ford replaced the lead frame free of charge, We have driven the truck for 100 miles and no problem so far.
The correct fix for the issue is replacement of lead frame software update I do not think it will work with all the trucks.

I'm worried that the re-flash will interfere with my SCT/ 5 Star custom tune. Do you know if I would need a new tune with the recall upgrade? I remember having to give the "Shift Strategy" code to 5 Star when I bought the tunes.

I got the recall taken care of about a week ago. My truck immediately shifted differently. No harsh shifts, but the shift points are a bit different and I notice it not down shifting at slow speeds like it used to. The shift points are slowly adjusting some. The low speed down-shifting has not improved yet. It's not bad, just different for sure. We'll see if it continues to "learn."

Remove the 5* tune and revert back to stock before going in for the update.

I haven't had my truck done yet, but I'm also not having any issues with it either. Reading this thread makes me kind of nervous about scheduling it to have the recall work done.Maybe I should just leave well enough alone? LOL
