As has been my luck as of late, I pulled the right front hub of my 01 F250 thinking a grinding noise was the hub vacuum seal. Unfortunately, the u-joint seized solid and cranked the ear on the inner shaft, which is now trashed. The outer shaft looks to have seen better days as well.
Im looking for a recommendation for where to get a new right front shaft assembly at a decent price. Rock auto is out of stock, dealership/OEM pricing is nuts, and I haven’t had a lot of luck on the used market.
Used junk yard or ebay...just do a lookup on the internet. If you get a used one get a spicer life joint and throw it in. That would be a dana 60 correct?
Could have sworn my dads 2000 7.3 are had the Dana 60...remember when I was buying my 2004 f350 the service manager was telling him all 7.3 had the 60 and the 5.4 and v10 had the 50 till ford changed it in 2002
BUT most employers at ford dealers are idiots so
I've never seen a 50 blow apart and I've seen chipped up 7.3 in sled pulls etc...but because I'm OCD (this wouldn't be under that actually) I'd install a 60 just because
