Low Pressure A/C charging port replace issue
Truck sat for a while doing some frame-rust-rear spring hanger repair.
Starting driving it again and last week a 77 degree day in black truck got warm. I turned on A/C and it didn't get cold.
This is the '96 in signature block, I purchased new with 50 miles on it (Gen. Manager liked driving it) truck NEVER had Freon put in until last summer, one can.
Anyway, truck was short cycling on the compressor so figured, low again or electrical. Got her back home and could detect small odor of Freon.
After removing the hi side cap there was an unmistakable sound of gas escaping. I ordered in both charging ports and the hi side came off easy, the low side will not budge, even heated it a bit with heat gun.
I have even threatened it but it won't budge, I do not have the "Ford" socket but the universal socket seem to work well on hi side, nothing including Vise Grip is working on low side.
Do you guys have an idea I could try?
Thanks
