I’m new to diesel motors and still learning about the 6.7. I’ve had my F250 for about a month now and just rolled over 1,000 miles. This week I’ve noticed some noises that I want to ask you guys to see if its normal. I usually try to let the truck idle for a few minutes after a cold start before driving it. But as of this week when I go to drive it, it makes a whooshing sound that gets louder as I accelerate from a stop. The sound is like a loud engine fan running at full speed. It only makes this noise for the first bit of acceleration o about 5 mph (kinda like the noise a school bus makes as it accelerates from a stop). This noise never happened in the first 1,000 miles. Anyone know if its normal or know what it is?
I'm also new to diesels. I've noticed when it's cold(I live in So. Calif.) maybe 50, it makes different noises when lightly accelerating. After the truck gets to about 1/2 way to normal these noises go away. I'm sure it's the computer telling the turbo or waste gate to do something because it's not up to [i=left]temperature[/i].
