Since you work in the portapotty business you may get a kick out of this. For three weeks in July my unit was in the field supporting anothe battalion. It was raining for close to a week before we left an continiued for 3 days after. These days in the kinder gentler military we get nice perks like having our portapotties cleaned on a daily basis. Unfortunatly for the poor #@#@% driving the suction trucks. This one fella got stuck seventeen times in deep mud/water and was totally filthy before half the first trip out. I actually got in trouble for pulling out a civilian vehicle the first time i pulled him out. I said the hell with it and continiued to winch him out whenever needed because 1. he was just doing his job 2. he was supporting us 3. he was driving a 4x4 dually 2001 superduty with the 6 speed and the turbodiesel.
If you are ever on Fort Hood and need some assistance I'd be proud to help a fellow FTE member.

You are a true friend to anyone in my line of work! im sure he thanked you but let me also thank you! i could write a manual or very entertaining book on being stuck in a big truck! many times i had to get myself out using ANYTHING i could find(buckets and buckets of wood chips, branches big and small, chunks of concrete or asphalt, buckets of rocks and pebbles, ANYTHING) and being payed by the hour....i didnt mind. i carry two different kinds of shovels and an ax on whatever truck i drive! none of our trucks have 4wheel drive and i have been screaming for whinches since the first time i got stuck! there are times when we go into places that even if a tow truck could get near us, it would probably get stuck too! yeah man....i got some stories!

im like a kid stickin his big toe in the bath water to test it when it comes to leaving the pavement now! it has barely rained here in two months and i still look at the grass and dirt with a bit of wonder and skeptisism!

i started carrying my digital camera a month ago, when the next stuck happens......ill post the pics!
