This afternoon I had the unfortunate luck to have a Mack Truck turn into my lane. He made this move to keep from hitting a Suburban in the rearend. The Sub was turning left so the young inexperienced driver in the Mack TURNED LEFT into the opposing lane of traffic to miss the Sub. He couldn't turn right because of some construction on his right side. I happened to be the guy he hit(or who hit him). I was driving my 1980 F-350 4X4 THAT I BOUGHT NEW. We hit right front to right front. Man it was solid!!!!! I was running about 25-30 when I saw him head into my lane. I left 25 ft. of skid marks before we hit and 3 ft. sideways after we hit. I'm afraid it may have bent my frame. Sure screwed up the sheetmetal. Really ticked me off to wreck my work truck. It was still making me a living and now I've got to find another pu. I really liked that pu. No dents or rust, 271,000 miles, 22 years. All it takes is some inexperienced driver to ruin your day. Oh yeah, That Ford Pickup knocked the front axle loose on that Mack and shoved it back about 2 ft.!!! Built Ford Tough. Even the cops commented on that. On the good side, Nobody got hurt, The truck owner is a long time friend. It will work out, trucks can be replaced, just still makes me mad. :-X23

Very cool story. Sorry to hear about your truck though. I know I've been there too. You can take care of 'em all you want but somebody is going to hit it sometime.
If the crash had happened a second later he might have hit you on your driver's door or beyond your front bumper and we would be sending flowers instead of reading about it. Good thing you were not talking on a cell phone. Your angel must have been riding shotgun.
Glad that everybody's alright. Too bad about your truck. That's a long time to have something, especially this day and age. Good luck with your next truck, although all good things must come to an end sooner or later.
believe me when i say this, trucks are replace able...
I am living proof of miracles.
When i was 18 i was driving home in a real bad snow storm here in rural South Dakota, Burlington northern decided to leave their train parked, that's right it was not moving, over the high way. Needless to say I plowed right into the train cars at about 40-45 mph, totaled my 2wd ranger, lucky i had my belt on, other wise I'd be playin' the violin. any way to make a long story short, between the -40F temps, and the frozen sandbag that nearly took off my head if it hadn't been for my tool box, broken hip and many lacerations, and nearly dying of hypothermia, I pulled through and was on crutches at 4 weeks, even though it was expected that I'd never walk again.
Then 5 months later I was working graveyard shift and a day shift job for the summer, and fell asleep at the wheel with my 95 4x4 ranger. I had the cruise set at 65 and I drove into the ditch and woke up just before hitting the side of an approach, I made the Dukes of Hazard look like a bunch of panzies, my ranger went 120ft before it came down nose first, then rolled end for end 4 times. 'Cause i had my belt on I walked way with a concusion, and a few cuts from punching the windsheild out.
I thought that it was pretty sad when the ER doctor on call recongized me from the first accident.
Sorry about the long post, belive me there will always be another pickup, and not another you.
That would be like losing a family pet. I've had my Mustang 31 years this past June and I know it would make me At least you rattled that old bulldog up. Good to hear that there was no injurys.
