Well, here I am at work sulking because of a STUPID mistake I did this morning. I had family in this week and we stayed out late last night, not to mention our newborn who doesn't allow sleep anyway. Well, needless to say I didn't have much rest before work this morning. I have about a 25-30 minute drive to work from where I live everyday and it does get boring, especially when you're tired. This morning I just couldn't keep my eyes opened and before I knew it, I was driving (with cruise control on) around 73 MPH in the middle of the median. I woke in a fright of course and slammed on the brakes hoping the anti-locks would take control but that was not happening. I started to fishtail a couple times and then I slid sideways across the two lane highway to end up on the shoulder. I tried my best to take control but I still had too much momentum. My corrections ended up making do a 360 while still going forward. I started gaining control with no time to spare before I hit the trees and I did one last fishtail into a sign with my rear left side.
I'm fine and wasn't even shookin up really, but I was awake with no problems keeping my eyes opened. The truck shut off when I came to a stop which suprised me but I started her right back up. No reason to hang around there so I took off and headed back to work. Worried as heck about the damage I pulled over on a nearby trail and looked at the damage. To my suprize I only punched a half-dollar size hole in the tail light and burned out the turn signal bulb. The whole truck was covered with tall weeds and dirt, but no other body damage was done. I called my wife to tell her what I did to the 2 month old brand new vehicle we had just bought. I'm sure the light is going to be rediculously expensive but I did come away with a lot less lost then what could have been. This was a chevy trailblazer by the way, but thank God I didn't do this in my ford. If I was in the F-150 I would have surely rolled.
Well, all the lense peices broke inward so I was able to "craftily" glue them somewhat back together again, until I get it replaced of course. Luckily they are tinted a little, helps hide the epoxy, hehe. So, I don't know what the moral of this story is except that I survived yet another trial in my life that could have turned into a very bad situation. Maybe it is to finally convince my wife that I do need to buy the 4X4 package... and she said I would never see off-road in it anyway, hehe

Well i know everyone has heard this a thousand times, and me telling you again won't help much, but you really need to be careful about driving when you're that tired. Especially when you're in a chevy
I'm glad to hear you came out of it alive and with no injuries.
I guess a moral could be to not trust your anti-locks so much?
