Another rear main seal leak thread

Been hunting down my source of oil on the driveway, finally got the truck cleaned up enough to find the fresh oil....dripping outta the little access hole for the flywheel. I was hoping it was just the oil pan but I kind of doubt that now, unless you guys think it's still possible for the oil to get pushed from the pain up into the flywheel? The upper front section of the motor is also seeping around one of the pulleys. I cant really be surprised as it is a 2001 5.4 lol. Do i just keep adding oil until it dies for good? Try and fix the main seal? Truck is worth what 3k? lol

Be sure it’s not leaking up top and running down the backside of the engine and getting into the bell housing.

And just a thought, if the PCV valve hasen’t been serviced, a stuck or plugged PCV valve can cause the crankcase to see some internal pressure which can cause oil leaks.

Yea that was my thought as well, i need to change it out and make sure thats not causing the issue. Although once the pressure has built up and caused a leak won't it always leak now? Even with a new PCV valve?

I wonder if i'll have better luck letting Ford have it and properly diagnose it instead of me laying on my back in the driveway trying to see what's leaking
