Last year we did a new headliner in a 2009 SuperDuty and wanted to pass on some suggestions since we had to redo it as the original adhesive failed:
(1) 3M's 77 General Purpose Adhesive FAILED in the heat, humidity
(2) When dealing with the foam backing you have a couple of options for removing old material --- soft, drill driven wire brush, "roto" pad or a tool similar to 3M's Roloc scrubbing discs/pads............numerous manufacturers have these.......
(3) Use an adhesive (e.g. 3M's Headliner Spray Adhesive or similar) that is HEAT RESISTANT
