Hoping you guys will post some pics for me .I can't seem to find the old hood hinge to apron hardware .I'm sure there is a plate or something behind the apron for the bolts to distribute the load evenly .can someone post a pic of their truck so I can fabricate something out of steel? If anyone has had to do this ideas are welcome.

By apron I will assume you mean the metal inner fender.
So inside of each of the 2 aprons themselves, there are 3 sort of captured square nuts, one for each of the 3 bolts, they are inside of a sheetmetal "box", one "box" for each individual nut, far as I remember as each nut moved independently of the others.
But yes I guess you could cut a flat piece of plate to make up your own extra support or to re-create the factory set up. I don't have a pic of original set up to post.
yes the inner fenders are what I'm talking about. It's a 73 super camper special .the three holes forward of the cab mounting holes are the ones .I have nothing on the inside of there .I don't want to just put oversized washers on the inside with nuts if it will not be sturdy enough to keep alignment when closes. Do you think it would be sufficient to only have large washers?
The factory hood hinge brace is sitting there. I have never seen another truck with these long pipe braces behind the inner fender but it's factory.
Thats what I'm talking about right there! Look like angle iron .I may have to make something .I should have enough scrap around to do it if I can't find the real piece.
