I am wanting to repaint my 85 flare side, only because I got into a wreck and the new fenders are not the same white as before. But my truck has the tape stripes on the side, and from what I've found not many flare sides came with them. So I've done some research and found a few part numbers for the tape, but can not find anything on them. The code is 2 which translate to medium tan/light desert tan. and all I can find is light tan and medium tan but here are the part numbers I have found E5TZ-8320000-AU, E5TZ-8320002-AU, E5TZ-830003-AU, and E5TZ-8342604-AU. So I don 't really know if these are the correct numbers but if anyone can find anything on them or what the correct ones would be that would be greatly welcomed.
@NumberDummy is the parts number guru, he will be along after while.
I've got a better site for paint reference saved on my computer, can't remember the name and I'm on my phone. I would search the color name and cross reference Ford and the year. They repeated color names over various years on different but similar colors.
The color for the tape is from a ford pre delivery manual I have and that is all it says. At least that is a little more descriptive then the body color code for 9A and all it says is white. but anyway I was going to stop in at ford tomorrow afternoon and see what they say.

IIRC 9A is Wimbledon White, currently looking up another thread we discussed colors in, think the link I'm looking for is in it.

You do not want these stripe kits even if you could get them for free, because by now, they will not be any good, I kid you not.
The stripes are composed of two layers, outer stripe layer, inner adhesive layer. Stripes came rolled up in a box.
Over time changes in the temperature caused the adhesive layer to be come stuck to the stripe layer.
When you attempt to peel off the stripe layer, part of the adhesive layer will come along with it. Not pleasant!

X2
If you have stripes on your truck now take pictures then see if who ever paints the truck can paint them back on or see if a sign place can make you a set.
That is the only way I know of to get them back on.
Me I have some thingsin my head but will cross that bridge when I get to it.

That paper is where I got the part numbers from. I'll go to a sign shop and see what they can do. I think painting them in will cost a little more then I can afford. and I don't really know in the area that can do or will do it.
Ya I am going to have a hard time trying to find factory looking tape strips I know that but it'll be worth it I found the style that could work with one of the websites that Dave posted the only problem is they are red and I need tan. and ya I know I need type 6 that's what I found earlier about two months ago when I started this search. The only issue with doing the tape with just a role of pin striping is going to be the curves I feel, but if I can find the amount I need for the right price I'd be willing to give it a try
I have not seen type 6 up close but I would think the only curves are around the wheel openings, lower stripe, as the top on the rear fenders would wrap around the edges no?
Or does the paint not come to the edges, front & rear, of them?
Mine had like 3 paint jobs and flat black over everything so I can't tell how it went on the rear fenders.

Just around the wheel openings, yes. I've tried to post pictures but for some reason it is saying I can not because they are not the right size or something.
